We’re unique!  Four small business owners… and four friends... came up with an idea to work together to expand our businesses over drinks one night at the Glades Restaurant.

Each business is different from the other … a ladies and children’s boutique, a restaurant with fine dining, banquet room and entertainment, a floral/gift shop and a bridal/special occasion shop.  Each business compliments the other!

My Sister’s Closet is a charming boutique specializing in ladies and children’s clothing.  Owners and sisters, Cindy and Jan, opened in April 1974 as a children’s store.  Within a few years, they expanded into juniors and women’s apparel and added accessories.  They just celebrated 33 years in business!  There’s always a friendly smile and a cup of coffee waiting for you at My Sister’s Closet.

The Glades Restaurant has been a Carlinville tradition since 1959, known for its mouth-watering steaks and fine dining.  When owner Sherry purchased the Glades in 1998, the dining room and lounge area received a major “face-lift.”  A new addition to the restaurant, appropriately named “The 19th Hole,” was built for more casual dining and looks out over the Carlinville Country Club golf course.  Friendly people and good food … a perfect way to spend an evening at a place where everybody gets to know you by name … at the Glades Restaurant!

Main Street Florist and Main Street Bridal are both well-known in the area for their distinctive floral designs and beautiful wedding gowns.  The florist shop was purchased in 1990 and has since grown from “just a flower shop” to include outstanding silk arrangements, gifts and home décor items.  The bridal shop was added in 2000 and brings in brides from Chicagoland to the St. Louis area.  Both shops specialize in friendly and personal customer service.

Girls just want to have fun in Carlinville, and what could be more fun than browsing a clothing boutique, shopping for items for your home (or if you’re planning a wedding) and finishing it off with a refreshing beverage and wonderful meal!
